Spring in Colorado, I can hardly wait. The next best thing was to paint a spring time painting today. Spring in Colorado is very colorful; probably not compared to other states in the south and east, but just to see the aspens finally getting their spring green leaves and the wildflowers covering the mountain hills is quite beautiful. All I could think about while working on this today was aspens and columbines, our state flower. This is done very painterly with the purple representing the columbine flowers.
