So sorry about the photo; it has glare on the glass because this piece is framed. I might try to take another photo and post it later. "THE PICKET FENCE" was painted in watercolor and acrylic. Some of the watercolor shows thru and then the acrylic. It is a very visually interesting piece to look at. The colors and textures and brushwork on this painting are wonderful; it is a very happy place of a place I would love to visit!! Thanks for looking today.

While visiting my friend Wanda yesterday, I noticed Chickadees at her bird feeder. Well, that reminded me of a Chickadee painting I did while in a workshop with artist Mike Beeman. Birds have always been one of my favorite subjects to paint however, I could never get the "look" I wanted with the feathers and all. Mike taught me so much about softening the feathers and making the birds look so "feathery" and soft. I enjoy painting birds more than ever now! Thanks for looking today.

"IMPRESSIONISTIC CONTEMPORARY FLORAL #1" by Char Davis

I'm having so much fun with the impressionistic style of painting; still have a couple more "PAINTED PONIES" to post, but I just sort of got into these florals while I was out painting in my garden and looking at all of my flowers still blooming and thinking that we don't have very much summer left here in Colorado. I love the changing of the seasons here in Colorado; but I really hate for summer to be over. It seems like summer just started and I haven't had quite enough of it yet. I guess I'm never ready for my gardens to go to sleep for the winter.....hopefully we will have a really long and beautiful fall. The colors and the brushwork in this little painting are so much fun.
