Trying to capture the aspens; loose and some pretty bright colors. What caught my eye was the group of really yellow aspens and then back behind and to side all those aspens were more the oranges and reds. Colorado has so many different colors of aspens; I never get tired of looking at them or painting them. Thanks for looking today!

A very quick and small abstract landscape for today. Painting quickly and with a big brush produces a painting that is fresh and certainly not overworked. I have been working a lot in the fallish colors and today I just had to do something "springy" This same photo could be winter, spring, summer and fall and I may try it in all the seasons but still very spontaneously; but today I just got into the "pink" I'm ready for spring here in Colorado. This is a workshop painting; I think the area looks like New Mexico or Arizona somewhere. Everybody was choosing other artists paintings that were clipped out of magazines. I don't even know who the original artist was but thought the colors were beautiful and decided to give it a try. It's changed but doesn't look near as beautiful as the original.
