This painting is from one of our excursions to Moab. What an artists dream that place is! I must have taken hundreds of reference photos to paint from. This painting is pretty saturated with color; I think because I was so happy and excited about the scenery there. Enjoy the happiness!

Today was mixed media in the studio. Every now and then I have to have a play day and experiment with different art materials. This piece is some encaustic waxes, some inks, oh...I forget what all I played with today but had a great time. With this process, the detail and textures are amazing. This is one of those little gems that you could look at a hundred times and see something different every time. Enjoy!

Look at these sweet little guys...these two were up for adoption last summer and we thought about it.....but it didn't work out. The picture was so sweet thought; I just had to paint it. Was quite the challenge because the photo was printed on a piece of typing paper and so difficult to see. See if you can click on the painting and see the neat texture of the board and the paint..it's interesting. Thanks for looking.

This painting was so much fun to paint. I was experimenting with oil washes and trying to get a very "glazy" sort of watercolor look. I love the way it turned out; very soft and washy looking; but still full of lots and lots of color. Althought this is not the typical way that I paint with oil , I like it and think I might do a series....thanks for looking.

Now here is a spring-time thing! I love frogs and little critters and we have lots of them out here in the country. The frogs make a lot of noise in the summer. This oil painting is 8x10" on gessoed masonite.

Spring is in the air today in Colorado; I'm pretty sure I have a mild case of spring fever today. I can only think about painting florals! This abstract floral oil is 5x7" on masonite board. Enjoy the day!

Roosters in Our Backyard

Here are two of the roosters we raised last year. I have a story about these guys, but not enough time to tell you now. Have to go paint.....
